AP to be made entertainment and tourism hub, says Kandula Durgesh

Amaravati: Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh said on Tuesday that Andhra Pradesh is being promoted as a destination for entertainment and tourism.

He was speaking at the 24th Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) Expo in Mumbai. The Minister said they have decided to roll out a red carpet to investors after launching several new policies with a slew of incentives.

Durgesh said the prospective investors should look into the amazing opportunities provided by the AP Government and partner with them to set up amusement, theme, water parks and adventure zones.

He said "please invest in AP tourism sector as the State has 974-km coastline with hills and sea in Visakhapatnam and Godavari and Krishna delta offering many opportunities for riverside tourism projects.

He assured them that it is the responsibility of the State Government to provide them whatever support they need.

He also elaborated on Swarnandhra Vision-2047 and the proactive leadership by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He said there are a lot of opportunities to set up small and medium range amusement parks in tier 2 and 3 cities.

The Minister stated that the government policies, infrastructure and reforms are ready to make AP the most attractive State in the country in terms of tourism.

Durgesh, who interacted with investors, families are looking for innovative experiences, youth are looking for adventure sports and common tourists are looking for novelty in the background of the development of amusement and theme parks as key pillars in the modern tourism sector.

With the aim of strengthening the local economy, creating thousands of jobs and thus improving the standard of living of the community, he explained the huge opportunities for investment in AP in the entertainment and tourism sector.
